Is your website working for or against you?

As a coach, your website is one of, if not the, most important marketing tools you have in your arsenal. Your corner of the internet is where potential clients go to learn more about you and your coaching services. It’s also very good at helping you to build credibility and trust. That’s why it’s so important to make sure your website is up to par.

"Your website is the center of your digital eco-system, like a brick and mortar location, the experience matters once a customer enters, just as much as the perception they have of you before they walk through the door"

Leland Dieno

Here are six things that every life coaching website must have:

  • A Clear and Concise Message
Your website should have a clear message that tells visitors who you are, what you do, and how you can help them. This can be done through your tagline, copy on your homepage, and even the images you use. Your message should be easy to understand and should convey the benefits of working with you as a coach.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials
A truly effective way to build trust fast with potential clients is to showcase your work. That’s why it’s so important to include client reviews and testimonials on your website. These can be written reviews, videos, or even a simple list of names. You can share them everywhere after putting them on your website -- getting your name out there each time.
  • Practical Information About Your Services
People will want to know precisely what they get when they work with you. So, make sure that all of the information about your services is clear and easy to find on your website, including pricing information, courses, or anything else that would be helpful for potential clients as they evaluate whether working with you is right for them.
  • A Professional and Engaging Design
Your website should be clean and professional, with clear design elements that are easy to understand and navigate. And your site needs to be engaging – if visitors land on your page but then quickly leave because they got bored or confused, you may miss out on potential clients. A great way to keep things engaging is through images, videos, infographics, or even interactive quizzes or calculators that allow visitors to engage directly with your content.
  • A strong Call-To-Action
Your website should have a strong call to action that encourages visitors to take the next step, whether signing up for a free consultation or scheduling an appointment. Your call-to-action should be prominent and easy to find, and above the fold.
  • High-Quality Content
Your website should feature high-quality content that is keyword rich, focused on your target audience, and easily accessible. For example, this content might include articles, blog posts, testimonials from clients or colleagues, and client success stories.

By including these six things on your website, you’ll be well on your way to attracting more clients and growing your business.
