If you’ve been following along, you know I spent June writing about protecting your energy, slowing down and not doing #AllTheThings in business for the summer. Here’s the (quietly funny) update…
And then? I enrolled in university.
(Yep. Sometimes I surprise even myself.)
For years, earning a degree has lived in the “someday” part of my brain. I turn 50 this year. And while watching Les Misérables (again), I fell headfirst into a Victor Hugo rabbit hole—where this landed right in front of me:
“Forty is the old age of youth; fifty the youth of old age.”
There’s nothing like a finding a quote to give you the nudge you need, right when you need it.
But here’s the thing I want you to know: This wasn’t a whim. Before I said Yes to this big and scary next chapter, I spent the month of June clearing space—prepping my business, and my life, for a calmer, steadier summer.
It’s easy to convince ourselves we don’t have time. That business is too demanding. That we’ll get to it after this season.
Knowing that setting boundaries and protecting your energy is not always about saying no. It can be about creating space to say Yes—to the things that matter to you.
If you’ve been craving space for something new, maybe this is your season too.
What would you love to say Yes to this summer?
