It’s that time of year again—you know, when everyone’s buzzing about what they’ll do differently in the New Year. Can we take a moment to reflect on that for a second? Because talking about change is way easier than actually embracing it. I get it—it’s not exactly the most comfortable thing to lean into, but here’s the thing: change is inevitable. And more importantly, it’s the secret sauce of growth. If we want to move forward, we’ve got to learn to embrace it.
There’s a quote from Maya Angelou I keep coming back to: “If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.” Simple, but it seems so much more relevant this time of year, doesn’t it?
Here’s what I’ve learned (the hard way, because of course): holding on to the way things are or used to be might feel safer, but it also keeps us stuck. Whether it’s finally chasing that idea that keeps nudging you awake at 2 am or letting go of something you know deep down isn’t serving you, those small, bold choices are where it all begins.
Let’s head into the new year with open arms—and maybe a glass of champagne. Cheers to whatever comes next. 🥂
